  • Bicentennial Tuesday: Alabama has launched a three-year celebration that honors its 200th birthday. This year’s theme is “Exploring Our Places.” Over the next few months, we are going to share what we have learned about some of the historic places in Marshall County starting with Snead State Community College, the oldest community college in the state’s system to offer Associate’s degrees. Fun Facts: The college began in the home of E.B.L. Elder with 70 students in 1899. The school was named after John H. Snead, a Boaz businessman. The administration building is the oldest on campus. #SneadStateCommunityCollege #AL200 #Alabama200 #ExploringOurPlaces #AlabamaBicentennial #MarshallCoAl #BoazAl
