Arts & Enterainment
For the art lover, the Mountain Valley Arts Council features local and regional artists at their location in downtown Guntersville. In addition, the arts council hosts a multitude of art exhibits throughout the year and sponsors music concerts at local venues.
Local talent abounds at the Whole Backstage Theatre, a community treasure that features an annual schedule of plays and musicals guaranteed to entertain the entire family. Housed in a renovated elementary school dating back to the 1920s, the theatre is operated and maintained by volunteers and generous donations from the community.
Errol Allen Park, located in the new Arts and Entertainment District of downtown Guntersville, features live music during the summer and fall. The concerts are free and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a night of music under the stars.
Albertville High School is known for its award-winning show choir. Visitors can see Albertville students, as well as other students from across the Southeast, perform at the annual Show Choir Competition, held in February at the Albertville Fine Arts Center.
Arab Musical Theatre, named the top theatre program in the Southeast in 2010, offers an annual show sure to delight the young and old. Past shows include Beauty and the Beast, Little Women, and many more. Tickets can be purchased at AMTshows.org
